A few quick HR updates for you….

1. Sick Notes / Fit Notes – You will be pleased to know that employees can no longer self-certify their own sickness absences of up to 28 days. Normal service has resumed and sick notes / fit notes are back to being required for sickness absences of 7 consecutive days or more.

2. Sick pay for the unvaccinated – I am sure that you will have seen in the news that various big companies have been changing their sick pay policies for employees who have not had a covid vaccination ie if the member of staff is unvaccinated and then is off sick / self isolating due to covid, they are no longer receiving the level of sick pay that they previously did.

I just wanted to point out that the changes these companies have made are in relation to their own Company Sick Pay schemes and not to Statutory Sick Pay, which they are continuing to pay. I will, however, be keeping my eye on any developments and will let you know if or when there is anything useful to report.
